But in spite of that simple story, there are many important points about the form of family at Showa-era in this film. Ozu made that film as expression ‘something’ between old and new, adult and children, men and women, and urban and suburb. We can find very contemporary perspective in that film and simultaneously find some lost scenes in which we at Heisei-era can not live. In this paper, I will analyze Ozu’s works and will compare that film with his pre work, for example “I was born, but…(Umarete wa mita keredo)” .
